2+ Years of Research & Leadership Experience

My name is Olivia Karbott, and I am a senior Biochemistry major with a core concentration in Psychology at Roger Williams University. I am originally from Rochelle Park, New Jersey, and moved to Rhode Island to pursue my goals of receiving my bachelor’s degree where I can then grow to obtain my master’s degree in Biochemistry. I enjoy reading, working out, and extracurricular activities such as laboratory research in my respective field. During my time at RWU, I have worked on three different lab research projects; I studied the synthesis and characterization of liposomal nanoparticles as a form of cancer drug delivery to A549 lung tissue cancer cells and explored the effects of Gnao1 knockdown on the health and longevity of NIH-3T3 cells. My most recent project involved analyzing the anisotropy exchange of core-shell nanoparticles. With this research, I have presented at various school events and attended the American Chemical Society (ACS) national and regional conference where I had the opportunity to showcase my research developments.
